This is basically Linda Purl (of Happy Days) showing her acting prowess, as she evolves from a child bride to a sturdy pioneer woman, with everyone else just support. The story is based on a novel by Rose Wilder Lane (daughter of Laura Ingalls), so it does have a Little House on the Prairie feel. Michael O'Herlihy directed.
