The inclusion of this on a "monster movie" collection truly baffles me. I kept waiting for some sort of Twilight Zone twist that everyone in this sleepy Southern town was actually a ghost or something. But, no, they're just a bunch of eccentrics who win over the cynical New York writer played by Reagan. Leachman plays his love interest, who literally doesn't know enough to come in out of the rain. Burt Mustin, looking about as old as he would on The Brady Bunch and All in the Family about twenty years later, provides some comic relief. Ralph Nelson and Don Medford co-directed.
