This episode, which has the same date as the previous one (perhaps this originally aired in a two-hour format), is more focused and digs deeper and earlier into the families' stories, involving DNA and property and education. Gates himself finds out that a family story was only partially grounded in truth, with the most remarkable part-- that an ancentress who was a former slave bought a good two-story house in 1870-- remaining, although no one knows how she got the $1400. And it looks like this episode has a different director: Leslie Asako Gladsjo.
