In this episode, Gates goes further back in time, to the lives of his and his guests' slave ancestors, and ancestors who were whites or free blacks, finding more information than expected. He's still a little too gee-whiz for me (as if everything is amazing), but then I don't see the big deal in, for instance, how many ancestors fought in wars. Still, the stories and the research remain interesting.
This time Leslie D. Farrell is credited as director.
