We jump ahead seven years and now Ricky is a teen idol, dating another teen idol: Tuesday Weld as Cathy, at the same time she was Dobie Gillis's fantasy girl.  (She'd actually appeared on AOH three times before.)  Not only are the boys much older-- David is disconcertingly beefy-- but the parents are now the supporting cast.  And generic late '50s rock & roll plays not only at the dance but at the malt shop.  There are some twists in the plot, with both Cathy and Harriet having secrets, not that it's exactly complex, but I will say that I'm finding this series less bland than I expected.  Of course, who knows what the episodes without name guest stars are like.

Ozzie's brother Don co-wrote the '52 Halloween episode, too, along with over 300 other episodes.  Ozzie directed again.
