B-
In Dana Baratta's middle of nine Dawson's C stories, everyone forgets Pacey's sixteenth birthday, including his best friend Dawson. Meanwhile, Jen starts hanging out with Abby Morgan (Monica Keena in her third of fourteen appearances), who encourages bad behavior, like getting drunk and kissing the next guy to walk along, who of course turns out to be a startled Dawson. Andie gets Joey to hire her brother Jack (Kerr Smith debuting) to work at Joey's family restaurant. And Dawson's dad suggests to his wife that they open up their marriage, I guess to help him cope with some affair she had in the first season. But the main plot is that Dawson reads Joey's diary and finds out that she wrote that his film-making talent is inadequate, so they're fighting most of the episode.
This is the only episode directed by Dennie Gordon.
