The "she" in this episode written by Henry Alonso Myers and Paul Zbyszewski is Brett's sister, who has secrets of her own.  Brett already knew that this frame-up is related to an old case of his late father's, but here it turns out that his family knows more about it than they pretend.  Brett and Jennifer make peace with each other, and "the next day" she makes changes in her life, just as Andrea did by putting her boyfriend in rehab earlier.  There's definitely more of a sense of hope than when the series first started, although there's still a lot to untangle.

Jim Beaver makes his first of five appearances as "Uncle" Nick Vukovic, Hopper Sr.'s former partner.  The Unseen Man of an earlier episode turns out to be John Getz as Judge Tobias Booth.  Bryan Spicer would direct one more Day B episode.
