I suppose this could be a heartfelt protest against McCarthyism, but it mostly seems to be a story where the busybody females of a small town (including a little girl who's presumably the great-grandmother of the little girl in The Children's Hour since she spreads malicious gossip just to stir the shit) cause trouble for a sweet young teacher who merely shoots a gun in the classroom to stop a game of catch. Oddly enough, the script is by a woman, in fact Ruth Woodman, who created the show for radio back in '30.
Stuart E. McGowan directed this and a very impressive 133 other episodes.
