To my surprise, the special effects are better than the writing (by George Oppenheimer, who wrote the "Comic-Strip Tease" episode of Mr. & Mrs. North, which also got a C-) and direction (by Philip Rapp, one of a baker's dozen for the series).  This was the fourteenth episode of the series and of course based on the movies, which in turn were based on the Thorne Smith novels.
