Episode writers Lloyd Turner and Gordon Mitchell gave their last names to the older odd couple (played by Peter Brocco, who was Mr. Whitehill earlier, and John Qualen, who'd have two other roles later) appearing towards the end of the episode. The money of the title is $2000 that Phillip mysteriously has. "Murray the cop," as he's invariably referred to, is called in to get the truth.
William O'Connell is Mr. Skyler here and would be a Hotel Clerk three years later. If Mr. Larkin looks vaguely familiar, you may've seen Howard Morton as a regular on Gimme a Break! or The Munsters Today. Ed Belson, who plays the Bum, presumably is some relation to Jerry Belson. And this is the 200th sitcom I've reviewed on this project.
