It's weird to me that this episode has dramatic musical flourishes when nothing that dramatic is happening. Even when there are shootings, it's a little dull. And clearly there wasn't enough story for even half an hour (counting commercials), since Gene Barry steps out of character for a few minutes towards the end to give us background on the episode. Also, there's a romance thrown in (well, two), with no pay-off. I doubt I'll be into most of the Westerns in this project, but even Jim Bowie was better than this.
