This time the medical condition is the cook's encroaching blindness, so my squeamishness wasn't a problem. O'Brien and Thomas scheme, but Bates and Anna team up against them, and Anna later admits her love for Bates, which I saw coming since Episode One. Also, Edith resents Mary for many reasons and seems to be looking to expose her "affair" with the late Turk. (Really, it wasn't a even full one-nighter, but Mary refers to him as her "lover" like it was some grand passion.) I would think Edith would worry about the scandal affecting the sisters, as in Jane Austen, but Edith isn't exactly the brightest Crawley.
Bernard Gallagher makes his first of three appearances as Bill Molesley, father of Mr. Crawley's valet, and here the dowager countess's rival in the flower show. Robert Bathurst would be in six more episodes as Sir Anthony Strallan.
