This Patrick Harbinson story (his second of two) is easily the weakest one so far, with its quartet of unlikable Oxford alums who knew each other twenty years ago in a convoluted way, and, yes, I'm including the murder victim, Miranda Thornton (Julie Cox, who would be Mrs. Angela Dyer on a Broadchurch episode), in that.  The title is a reference to Troilus and Cressida, which is this week's literary inspiration.  David O'Neill didn't direct any other Inspector L episodes, which perhaps is just as well.

Glen Stanway is a Police Constable here and would later be a Fingerprint Officer, while SO19 Armed Police Officer Lee Nicholas Harris would later be just a Police Officer.  Greg Bennett on the other hand would be a Police Constable in all three of his uncredited appearances.  Alton Letto had played Gurdip Sohal the previous year and would return in '12.  Kemi-Bo Jacobs would also be back that year as DC or WPC Julie Lockhart, as would Jason Durr as DI Peterson.  Don Warrington, who has a long-running role as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson on Death in Paradise, moonlights here as Marcus Harding.  This time author Colin Dexter is Man Talking with Marcus Harding in Courtyard.  And I did not recognise Josh O'Connor, later Larry on The Durrells in Corfu, in one of his first roles, as Charlie Stephenson.
