I was rooting for this to get funnier or more interesting, so I watched until the halfway point, but it just didn't seem to be going anywhere. Still, it was nice to see both Fry (as the title character) and my '90s crush Slattery, as well as to a lesser degree Celia Imrie, whom we last saw on an Inspector Lewis episode. (I mostly know her from the Bridget Jones movies, although she's pretty versatile on television.) Andrew Grieve directed two more episodes.
