I found this episode less funny and interesting, partly due to the bleak scenery, although we do hear the title-drop for the fourth book in the trilogy, So Long and Thanks for All the Fish (1984).  Richard Vernon makes his first of two appearances as Slartibartfast (and was the Man on Train that the Beatles argue with in Hard Day's Night).
