Cheesy first episode-- the music, the cinematography, the writing, and the acting, including by McGavin as the title character-- although I guess it gets even cheesier, with an occult spin, but it was just crime drama in the quarter hour I watched.  I might've gone with a D+ if not for the thing about the "fat" woman who isn't.  Allen Baron directed three more episodes.
