Based on the short stories of Mikhail A. Bulgakov, this has to struggle with the odd double-casting of its protagonist, while offering humor-- even slapstick-- about medicine.  Radcliffe plays a fresh-out-of-med-school Russian doctor, while Hamm is his older self that he somehow interacts with, and there's no explanation (at least in the first episode) about whether the young doctor later got an incredible growth (and girth) spurt or what.  I did like how Radcliffe is as always self-deprecating, but that was about it.  Alex Hardcastle directed.
