Forgettable adaptation of a novel by R. Austin Freeman (one of the "rival" mystery writers of the Arthur Conan Doyle era).  Note that although, like Ripper Street, this is about a late Victorian murder with a prostitute as victim, it's not particularly graphic, this being a '70s production, and more of a mystery than a crime drama.  James Goddard directed.
