This was my first time trying to watch this TV-movie that was famous for the rest of the '70s, and perhaps beyond, for making people cry.  I don't care for football or James Caan, so I'm no more the audience for this than I was when I was three.  I lasted the first thirty of 73 minutes.  William Blinn wrote the screenplay based on the book by the Williams character, while Buzz Kulik directed.
