Season Two begins with the end of the previous season of the theater, a few months after the first episode.  Jack has to leave to film a movie and he wants Kate to marry him or at least go with him to shooting in Hawaii, and she eventually accepts.  Meanwhile, Geoffrey and Ellen kiss, but she thinks it's just a release of tension, so she accepts Sloan's proposal, but then realizes that it's Geoffrey she really loves.  So in a way, there's a "happy ending," but obviously there is also an ominous beginning, especially with Macbeth as the next play in the schedule.  (The opening tune about Hamlet has thus been replaced, although "Call the Understudy" still closes the episode out.)

Jackie Burroughs would return twice as Moira.  David Alpay makes his first of five appearances as Patrick.  John Stead is John here but would later be listed as Macduff rather than the "real" name.  Eric Peterson's character name isn't mentioned for this episode, but he'd be Gavin Gilchrist later, and similarly Peter Keleghan is nameless here but would be listed as Mr. Archer later.
