We get to see performances of all three of the plays that seem to be almost simultaneous at the beginning of this theatrical season. Well, Romeo & Juliet is still in rehearsals, and the two leads are frustrated by their director Darren's deliberately unemotional approach. Meanwhile, Macbeth actually goes right (or right enough) for once, while Anna learns that the playwright she's secretly dating is using her life for material.
Elizabeth Saunders in her first of two appearances as Alana, Jerry's wife, provides the most moving moments, as we see her fall in love with her husband again when watching him play Macbeth. Alison MacLeod would return once as Mrs. Archer.
