I didn't like any of the characters and I thought the dialogue was embarrassing, both in content and in quality. Ringwald's material makes the little she got to do on Riverdale look Emmy-worthy, and I cringed for Alice Hirson (formerly Ellen's mom on Ellen) for her role as the horny grandma. Only Jennifer Coolidge emerged relatively unscathed, as always. (I mean, Stifler's mom was her breakout role, so the woman obviously can rise above her material, no matter what.) As for the teen cast, the less said the better. Keith Truesdell directed this second-season-opener (which confusingly is on a set labeled as Volume Three).
