Little Mosque on the Prairie: Playing with Fire
Little Mosque on the Prairie: Playing with Fire

B
This Series One finale, written by Susan Alexander, Zarqa Nawaz, and Rebecca Schechter, has Rayyan "dating" a handsome fireman to prove a point, and it's pretty clear that Amaar is jealous, and Yasir overprotective. After all, Rayyan is old enough to be a doctor. It's not like she's a teenager. Meanwhile, Baber tries to discipline his actually teenage daughter, who admires Rayyan.
The first series ranges from C+ to B, with half of the eight episodes getting a B-, so of course it averages out to a B-. Not every joke hits and not every situation works, but the characters are likable and the setting is original yet feels universal. (It oddly feels most like small-town Scotland, at least in movies and on TV.) I'd be happy to watch more someday.
