Co-creator DiMartino provides a satisfying conclusion to an uneven season.  The big battle is far more interesting, visually and otherwise, and ends are tied up, even if it means a couple (re-)break-ups and some major changes for the world, like leaving the spirit portal open and Korra not being able to regain her connection to her past lives.

Book Two of Korra has more highs and lows than Book One, ranging from C to B+ rather than C+ to B, but it still averages out to B-.  I feel like the potential that the early episodes showed just wasn't lived up to, although the series is still never bad.  Book Three is called "Change," and that should be interesting.
