Phil manipulates the two women into agreeing that he can "repopulate" with both. Yes, he brings up the risk of incest, but his children by Melissa would still be half-siblings to those by Carol. And then through the whole episode, we see a mysterious man (Mel Rodriguez) driving towards Tucson and he shows up at the end to interrupt Phil & Melissa's "date," which is in a field or a park, rather than, you know, at one of their houses or maybe a nice hotel.
John Solomon wrote eight more episodes and directed thirteen more.
