This is a sports episode but it does address the impact of relationships, romantic and otherwise, among the Fire Ferrets. There are some funny moments, including Korra getting romantic advice from Tenzin's wife and little girls, but also a sense of menace from an arrogant future competitor. This is a good place to mention that I like the way '20sish music is incorporated into some scenes, as well as of course "Asian" motifs.
Rami Malek (who would later play Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody) makes his first of three cameos as Tahno. Co-director Joaquim Dos Santos provides an uncredited voice for Mako's Fan.
