Jeremy Stevens and Tucker Cawley wrote the screenplay based on the story by Kathy Ann Stumpe and Lew Schneider, and maybe it took all those writers to lampshade one of the premises of the show.  Debra thinks she's boring compared to Ray and his colorful family.  They try, badly of course, to convince her otherwise, leading her to mimic them, which they enjoy (except Ray, which is ironic considering how many people would soon have Ray Romano imitations).  Debra is supposed to be the "voice of reason" character, although I sometimes find her unreasonable, if not on a Lucy Ricardo level of course.

This week's Celebrity Sports Figure I Don't Care About is Desmond Howard.
