I didn't really care about the villain in this episode, Kyle Nimbus or the Mist (Anthony Carrigan, who would return once in the role).  Still it was nice to see flashbacks to how Caitlin's fiance died heroically, not so much for her as for it giving some seriousness to Cisco to balance out his class-clowny side.

Michael Karl Richards is Paulson here but would later be Cop #1, while Jane Mitsoula is a nameless Detective here and would be Cop #5 later.  Ron Wear makes one of his eight uncredited appearances as a Police Officer, while John Specogna makes his first of ten, but he's listed at IMDB for this episode alone as Businessman/Xmas Shopper/businessman runner [sic].  Jeff Sanca is uncredited as a nondescript Bad Guy but would later twice be a Security Guard.  Robbie Amell would do nine more episodes as Ronnie Raymond.  Writers Grainne Godfree and Alison Schapker would do six and three more episodes respectively.  And Jesse Warn would direct three more episodes.
