There's a headline in this episode, "Flash Falters," that feels apt. This isn't a bad episode, but it feels like Barry and the series are trying to figure out where they're going, six months after Ronnie and Eddie sacrificed themselves to save Central City and indeed the world. A new team forms, with Iris and Dr. Stein at STAR Labs, but Dr. Wells is missed, at least by this viewer, and a digital will is not enough. Dr. Wells not only gives a personal message to Barry but he confesses to Nora Allen's murder, so Henry Allen is released, but of course Barry's dad has to go away so that he won't interfere with Barry's superheroing. Season Two has potential, but I can also see it going south real quick.
Berlanti & Kreisberg wrote the story that Kreisberg & Stanton turned into a teleplay. Ryan Handley makes his first of fourteen appearances as Zoom, but Teddy Sears is also listed on IMDB as Zoom, the first of nineteen appearances. Perhaps that will make more sense later, like the thing about the multiple men in the yellow suit.
