While I didn't expect this episode, written by Steve Skrovan (who would do thirty more), to be on the level of the Bob Newhart episode where Bob finds out his IQ is lower than Emily's (reviewed here https://reviewingeverytvshowiown.blogspot.com/2016/03/the-bob-newhart-show-mister-emily.html), I was disappointed in this one, and perhaps it's not surprising that my main gripe with it is my main one with the series as a whole. Ray's brother Robert says he's giving the IQ tests as part of his police training, but then it turns out it was a psychological experiment, where he's playing mind games with them. And he suffers no consequences for this! Maybe everybody else loves Robert, but I don't.
Tom McGown and Maggie Wheeler return as Bernie and Linda Gruenfelder. Jeff Meyer would direct eight more early episodes.
