Baby Sybil is christened as a Catholic, despite Robert's reservations, and Tom agrees to help manage the estate, after Matthew alienates the mismanaging former manager. Ethel leaves town for yet another new chance at life, while Thomas may've ruined his chances by being caught awakening Jimmy with a kiss, after O'Brien lied to him about Jimmy returning his interest. Edith takes a job as a newspaper columnist. And various other things happen on this very eventful episode. I'm still finding this to be a strong season and I'm glad I stuck with the programme through the weirdnesses and medical drama and trauma of Season Two.
Photographer John Voce would return in the same role three years later. Charles Edwards makes his first of seven appearances as Michael Gregson. This is the first of six episodes David Evans directed.
