While there were things I liked about this episode, I had to mark it down for, one, too much cricket, and two, Lady Mary having a fertility crisis that's resolved quickly offscreen.  The family has to deal with young relative Lady Rose MacClare (Lily James), who's not only a flapper but also an adulteress!  Meanwhile, Thomas goes from being dismissed with a reference to being dismissed without a reference to being made under-butler!  The dangerous bar of soap in Season One and the surprising support of Bates complicate matters.  And Edith has her own married man, one whose wife is in an insane asylum.  I really liked Matthew in this episode, how he interacts with Rose and Tom, and of course Mary, which makes me wonder if more tragedy lies ahead for him.  (No spoilers please!)

Richard Teverson would return as Dr. Ryder a couple times in Season 6.
