The Durrells are back and as funny and charming and messed up as ever. It's unclear how much time has passed, but enough for them to welcome Spiros back and enough for him to mock the ridiculous moustaches the two elder brothers have grown. The family has a new landlady, Vasilia Prifona (Erikka Bigiou), who's sexy but cruel. Louisa decides to set up a market stall, but she's got a lot to learn about cookery in the Greek heat. She meets an interested British man, Hugh Jarvis (Daniel Lapaine, who would be in every episode this series but not after that, so I'm guessing this love interest won't work out either, although Sven is still around). Meanwhile, Larry is awaiting the publication of his first novel, Leslie accidentally shoots Roger the Dog but makes him a driftwood wheelchair, Margo decides to become a nun because of her crush on a monk, and Gerry expands his zoo, including adorable otters.
Thanos Sakellariou would return as the Senior Monk in the next episode.
