As you can guess from the episode title, Ed writes a song.  We keep hearing how wonderful it's supposed to be, but it's forgettable and I can't imagine any era in which it would be a hit with teens.  Still, there are beatnik musicians, a vaguely Jewish music publisher (Jack Albertson, long before Chico and the Man, in a role he'd play five more times), and bagpipes.  Note that this is Edna Skinner's thirteenth appearance as neighbor Kay Addison.

Sheldon Allman would again be the uncredited singing voice of Mr. Ed.
