Martin Cohan (later the producer of Who's the Boss?) wrote his first of eight MTM episodes and, while it's pretty good, I feel like it might've been better if it had come later.  Not only would it mean more after Mary was more of a fixture in the news room, but moments like her coming in and drunkenly imitating Ted's "Hi, Guys!" would probably get more of a reaction out of the studio audience.  That said, maybe the more entrenched and confident Mary wouldn't have considered taking a job she hates just for a higher salary.  In any case, I would've gone with a C+ but Gordy helped bump it up with his reactions and comments.

Dick Clair, here credited as Richard Clair, was more known as a writer and producer, but he plays Bob Freelander, the man offering Mary the job at another station.
