This is an unsuccessful back-door pilot for Tony Orlando as Tony Castillo, unsuccessful in that it didn't sell and in that it doesn't even work as a stand-alone.  I don't care about these characters and I actually would rather spend more time with the Huxtables.  At least A Different World had a more promising concept, even if in retrospect it does seem odd that a college setting lasted that long.  (I don't remember details though.)

Angela Bassett, Mrs. Mitchell here, would later be Sara, while Expectant Mother #2 Alva Chinn would play two other roles on the series.   David Langston Smyrl, who's Chester here, had previously been a nameless Man in Court and would be back three times as a character named Sam Lucas.
