This John Markus story is the first genuinely funny one in the series.  (I LOLed at "Lola.")  The Huxtables' 53-year-old doctor friend is dating a woman Sondra's age (19 here, so maybe when they said the thing about her being 20, they meant the following summer in Paris), but the humor comes from the various reactions to hypothetical situations involving death.
