I was a bit bored by this George C. Scott version, directed by Clive Donner, and gave up after 20 minutes, just when the first ghost showed up. Obviously, the Blackadder parody is more fun, but our previous adaptation, A Child's Christmas in Wales, knows how to hook the viewer early on and hold interest. That had lovely cinematography and the characters had personality. (Still a B- though.)
I've chosen the two arguably contradictory genre tags since I'm not sure how literally we're meant to take the ghosts.
