In this John Markus story, another I vaguely remember from the time, Denise's bad sewing doesn't matter because mid-'80s fashion was pretty dreadful anyway, awful enough that Theo's friends are impressed by his style.  Note that Kadeem Hardison plays a completely different character than he would on A Different World.  And Theo is now 14.
