Despite the exclamation point, I found the lead-up to D-Day more interesting, as the fears, tensions, and rivalries come to a head as the troop waits to head into combat.  At that, I stopped at the half hour mark.  Writer Robert Pirosh has a bunch of credits but I know him best for the Marx Brothers movie A Day at the Races.  Boris Sagal directed.
