This Carmen Finestra story isn't the more famous anniversary episode, the one where the family, including scene-stealing little Rudy, serenaded Cliff's parents (Earle Hyman and Clarice Taylor) with "Night Time Is the Right Time." But I enjoyed this celebration of the elder Huxtable's 50th more than any other Cosby episode I've looked at so far. The lip-syncing to James Brown's "I Got the Feelin' " is solid, and I like the contrast between the still wedded bliss of Russell and Anna and the rocky relationship between Sondra and Elvin (Geoffrey Owens), with Cliff and to a lesser degree Clair in the middle.
