Although this episode written by Brian Kelley (his only one for Futurama although he did some for The Simpsons) introduces Zapp Brannigan (voiced by West) and his long-suffering sidekick, Lt. Kif Kroker (voiced by LaMarche), it didn't really work for me. Among the issues I had:
Still I did like the Jetsons-like vibe of the dance club Amy takes the gang to, and the Captain Kirk parody of Zapp's character. Note that part of the episode takes place on April 13th, i.e. 1001 years in the future.
Frank Welker, who's done animal voices for decades (including Scooby Doo for almost fifty years), here provides for Nibbler and the various Animals. Co-creator David X. Cohen does his only voice in the entire run, as a Computer. Vanzo's co-director this time is Brian Sheeshley.

- Bender being needlessly homophobic,
- Leela, despite her high standards, giving Zapp pity sex,
- and the crew failing to bring along separate cages for the animals they plan to rescue.
