I don't know, this second-season opener just feels off, starting with the central premise. (Oddly enough, IMDB lists an almost identical episode from '54, but maybe they recycled the idea.) Gracie hosts a wedding for people she doesn't know, and poor George has to spend thousands (in 1951 dollars) on it, and then we don't even see the groom. The writers are exactly the same as on the episode from a year before, and indeed Gracie references that episode. There are some laughs but the timing is mostly not as good as on the other episode and I honestly don't know what to make of the scene where new announcer Harry Von Zell goes to the supermarket and picks up not only candles and Carnation but a few wedding guests.
Note that by this time Fred Clark was Harry Morton #2. And the disc from the library actually has three episodes, but one is "The Income Tax Man," which I reviewed on my previous blog.
