Well, it turns out that all eighteen of the episodes on this disc were supposed to be Season Four, but Fox was unsupportive and things didn't go as planned.  This Ken Keeler story was intended to be the final episode (the series was later revived, twice), and it's not a bad one to go out on.  Fry wants to play beautiful music for Leela, as he did once before.  So he makes a deal with the Robot Devil (Castellaneta again), which evokes not just Faust but O. Henry.

"Season Four" ranges from C- to B, averaging out to a C+.  It was interesting revisiting the series, but I guess I remembered the better moments and forgot the rest.  We'll probably look at least one episode of The Simpsons way down the road, so I'll talk about Matt Groening's style then.
