I preferred this to Ace of Cakes, since I actually cared about the bakers this time, a dozen (although not a baker's dozen) talented amateurs, who are narrowed down to eleven at the end.  The cakes look good and there's enough suspense to keep me watching.  I won't tag all the contestants, but I will note that Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry are the judges, Sue Perkins (who I know from the radio show Just a Minute) and Mel Giedroyc are the presenters, while Stephen Noonan is the narrator.  Andy Devonshire would be the series director through '16.
