This is a nice introduction to the premise and main characters. (Bender's first line is the very characteristic "Kiss my shiny metal ass!") I watched a few seasons of the series several years ago, so, while I don't remember every single detail (as I pretty much do of The Brady Bunch and Three's Company), I know the basics. It'll be interested to revisit what my library has available.

Recurring voice cast:
- David Herman, here as Terry, Lou, and Tube User, with many more roles in 106 episodes
- Tress MacNeille, here playing the Suicide Booth, with many more roles in 123 episodes
- John DiMaggio as not only Bender but URL, Mr. Panucci, and Bike Thief
- Katie Sagal as Turanga Leela
- Kath Soucie, here as Michelle, Rude Boy, and Head Museum Feeder but various characters over sixteen more episodes
- and Billy West keeping very busy as not only protagonist Philip J. Fry but his "nephew" Prof. Hubert J. Farnsworth, Smitty, Richard Nixon's Head, Ipgee, and Man with Newspaper.
Also, Leonard Nimoy would once more voice his own disembodied head, but this is the only time Dick Clark voices Dick Clark's head. Co-creators Matt Groening and David X Cohen wrote this pilot, while Rich Moore and Gregg Vanzo co-directed.
